Welcome to the ISU Horn Studio! We are a community of bachelor’s and master’s degree-seeking students who love to play the horn! Our studio includes all music majors and minors who play the horn regardless of concentration: if you are a future horn performer, music educator, music therapist, or music administrator, you belong here!

As a member of the ISU Horn Studio, you will receive a weekly lesson with Dr. Hockenberry (or the current Graduate Assistant if you are a music minor). Additionally, all students participate in studio class, horn choir, and twice-weekly warmup class. That’s five hours of horn-specific instruction per week! Undergraduate and graduate music performance and music education students are in the horn studio for the duration of your degree. Undergraduates in music therapy and music business are only required to be in the horn studio for four semesters, though you may stay with us as long as you’d like!

Want to join the studio? Below are the audition requirements and links to apply!
